Terms and Conditions of Hire
“Harlequin Costume Hire”, “HCH”, “we”, “us” means Harlequin Costume Hire. “The Hirer” is the person or company responsible for the hire and named on the front of the booking form. “Return Date” means the agreed date the costume is due to be returned.
Terms and Conditions
All items remain the property of Harlequin Costume hire. All items and accessories comprising the order are listed on the booking form.
The Hirer is to supply HCH with accurate measurement information at least 6 weeks before the collection date. This will rise to 8 weeks if the garments are being made or is a bespoke order. Measurements are to be clearly stated in either inches or centimetres for each member of the cast.
Measurement forms can be found on the HCH website here. Some measurements are mandatory and will be shown on the measurement form. If a hirer wants to use their own form, please get approval from HCH beforehand. No orders can be confirmed by HCH until all measurements have been agreed by HCH and the Hirer.
Hire Period is agreed and stated on the costume quote and booking forms. All costumes are to be collected from and returned to HCH on the dates stated on the booking form. The Hirer should let HCH know immediately if they are unable to collect or return an order on the due date. If a costume or costume set are returned late, HCH reserves the right to make a daily charge at the same daily rate of hire plus 50%, from the due date until the costume(s) is/are returned.
Once costumes have left HCH possession and are with the Hirer they are the hirer’s responsibility and any risk is with the Hirer until HCH receives them back.
Acceptance/collection of the item(s) at the commencement of the hire period implies that the item is complete and undamaged. Unless any faults or defects are notified to HRH within 3 working days of the start of hire, then we will consider this having occurred within the hire period and the deposit in whole/or part will be forfeit.
Under no circumstances should the Hirer attempt to alter or repair costumes. Sewing machine alterations and the use of iron on type sticky tapes (i.e. “Wonderweb”) sticky labels or any sticky Velcro is not permitted.
If there is a problem with a costume/s please contact us when your order arrives.
Please return all garments without laundering or pressing. Some of our costumes are very delicate and as such require special treatment when being laundered, ironed or pressed. If a costume needs laundering or pressing whilst on hire please contact us for written approval.
It is the responsibility of the Hirer to check and carefully pack the goods for return. Costumes and accessories must be neatly packed and returned in the same packaging it arrived in. Hats and props are to be packed separately from other clothing to avoid damage. Damage to hire equipment may result in additional charges.
