Harlequin Costume Hire is a family-run business based in Stondon, a small village in Bedfordshire. We pride ourselves on our extensive knowledge of costume, and our friendly service.

We’ll be honest, it’s impossible to count the number of costumes and accessories we stock!
We have a wide range of adult size costumes across many eras, shows and styles. We also stock a number of chorus lines.
Many of our costumes have been sewn by Richard and we are always making new costumes for our collection.
Established for over 30 years
Harlequin Costume Hire was created over 30 years ago by Richard Rosendale.
Prior to opening, Richard worked in costume and theatre, including working in the BBC costume department.
In 1978, Richard started from home.
In 1988, Richard opened the shop in Baldock, Hertfordshire, with help from his family.
In 2017, Richard’s niece Susan took over, having worked in the business for over 20 years.
In 2024, we moved to our new premises in Stondon.
